A man was struck and killed by a speeding train on the night of Tuesday, July 22, at the Railway Gate No. 8 in Guwahati.
According to eyewitnesses, the mishap occurred at around 9 p.m. “The man, whose identity remains unknown, was on the tracks when the train approached at high speed and fatally struck him.”, says a passerby.
At the time of reporting an official from GRP said, "We were informed about the incident and have sent a team. The body has since been taken for post-mortem examination. Efforts are currently underway to establish the identity of the deceased.”
The GRP has urged anyone with information about the victim to come forward and assist in the identification process.
