He strongly supported the "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" campaigns during the tariff war, arguing that the nation needed to become "self reliant."Speaking at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025 (UPITS-2025) in Gautam Buddha Nagar's Greater Noida, Prime Minister Modi stated that even international disturbances did not impede the nation's prosperity and that it continued to seek out new avenues for expansion.

"India's growth remains appealing notwithstanding the uncertainties and disruptions occurring globally.
We are not hampered by disruptions, but even in those situations, we seek out new paths.
"India is fortifying the foundations for the upcoming decades amidst all of these disruptions," PM Modi stated.
Our motto and guiding principle is Atmanirbhar Bharat. Dependency on others is the most helpless thing there is.
"A nation's ability to grow will be hampered the more it depends on other people," he continued.
The administration is concentrating on producing "chips to ships" domestically, PM Modi continued.
In order to make the nation self sufficient, he advocated for more funding for research and innovation.
"The country must become self reliant and every product that can be made in India should be made here," he stated.
The Prime Minister further stated that AK 203 rifle production will soon start in a factory established up in Uttar Pradesh in partnership with Russia.
"We are developing a vibrant defence sector, creating an ecosystem where every component bears the mark of 'Made in India,'" he said.
He claimed that some of the historic actions made in the fintech industry are bringing about a "platform for all, progress for all" in the nation.
"Inclusive development has been reinforced by our fintech industry. Everyone can use the open platforms we created.
UPI, Aadhar, all these initiatives. "Its influence is evident everywhere; whether you're shopping at a mall or buying tea, both of them use UPI," he remarked.
