PM Modi's speeches from demonetisation to Covid and Operation Sindoor all eyes on 5 pm address

The PMO announced earlier today that Prime Minister NarendraModi will speak to the nation on Sunday at 5 p.m.

The subject of the speech was not revealed by the PMO. The PM's speech on the eve of Navratri is anticipated to centre on the economic shifts, as Navratri is about to commence and the GST reforms are scheduled to go into force on Monday.

He might also draw attention to his recent calls for the usage of "Swadeshi" goods and his advocacy of a "Atmanirbhar" India in reaction to Donald Trump's 50% tax on India.

PM Modi has frequently addressed the country during his more than ten years in office to make significant announcements, ranging from military operations to demonetisation.

These speeches have been used to highlight significant national milestones, educate the public, and clarify government objectives.

PM Modi spoke to the country on this day to announce the demonetisation of the Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes.

He claimed that the action was taken to combat terrorism, black money, and corruption.

As soon as they were deemed invalid, the former Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes were no longer accepted as legal tender.

In a televised speech after India successfully tested an anti-satellite missile, Prime Minister Modi commended the nation.

"Every nation's journey has moments that bring the greatest pride and have a historic impact on future generations," he remarked.

Today is one such instance. India is now among the few nations with space based missile defence capabilities thanks to the operation.

PM spoke to the country following the passage of a resolution by Parliament to repeal Article 370 and divide Jammu & Kashmir into two Union Territories.

He emphasised that the measure will increase regional integration, development, and governance and that the BJP has long promised to provide Jammu & Kashmir special status.
