Air India Express Flight from Bengaluru to Guwahati Makes Emergency Landing



Following reports of a passenger being ill, an Air India Express flight from Bengaluru to Guwahati had to make an emergency landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

Following a mid flight complaint of chest pain, the 174 passenger flight landed at the Bhubaneswar Airport at approximately 4:53 p.m., according to airport officials.

The aircraft's pilot promptly requested authorization for an emergency landing from BPIA's Air Traffic Control (ATC).

Airport medical personnel treated the sick traveler right away, and he was eventually sent to Capital Hospital for more care.

According to an airport official, the flight resumed its route to Guwahati at 5:15 p.m. after a brief stopover due to the medical issue.
