On Monday, October 20, a two person SIT team will go to Singapore to engage with Singaporean officials regarding the October 21 inquiry into the death of Zubeen Garg, the state's most adored singing sensation and cultural icon. The team would be led on an evidence collection expedition by Munna Prasad Gupta, the head of the SIT, SDGP (CID).
The SIT chief had previously stated that the team's arrival would speed up the inquiry. Additionally, he had stated that they were prepared to travel to Singapore, would be there at the time designated by the local authorities, and would carry out their duties.
Sources claim that the SIT team will gather evidence related to the circumstances that led to Zubeen's sudden and unexplained death while they are there. The location of the incident, which is close to an island in Singapore, is also expected to be visited by them.
Zubeen, his friends, members of the Assam Association of Singapore, and others went on a private yacht trip there. Zubeen unfortunately died while swimming in the seas close to the island.
Both the Singapore Police Force and the Assam Police's SIT are conducting investigations into his strange demise.
"We will submit the charge sheet and ensure that justice is delivered for Zubeen in a fast track court," Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma told the reporters on Sunday. Installing his statue and establishing a music college in his honor are two of our ten-point agenda items.
