Assam signs pact with Google to establish AI center of excellence

 


Google and the Assam government today inked a deal whereby the digital behemoth will assist the State in developing Al capacities.

"The Assam government is concentrating on building infrastructure and technical skills to position the state as 'India's Al Hub' in the Northeast, assisting in the provision of openness and prompt public services to the populace.

Today, the State government's Information Technology Department signed a significant deal as a historic move in this direction, according to Science & Technology Minister Keshab Mahanta.

Through this understanding agreement, Google Cloud will work with the Assam government departments to create artificial intelligence capabilities, improve officer performance, and use AI to speed up and streamline government services for citizens.

An "Artificial Intelligence Excellence Centre" (AI Center of Excellence) will also be developed in the State with Google's assistance in order to use artificial intelligence to improve the effectiveness and public orientation of the Assam government's administrative system.
