CISF approves 4 year tenure for personnel on Parliament duty

The Parliament House complex (PHC) is now completely secured by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which has approved an extended four year term for its employees on Parliament security duty.

This term may be extended by an additional year. The goal of the shift is to achieve the ideal balance between the former's optimal rotation for a consistent infusion of fresh blood and operational continuity to improve staff familiarity with members of Parliament.

According to CISF's general posting guidelines, employees are permitted to stay in a particular location for a maximum of three years, though this may be extended.

A set percentage of the authorized strength will be altered annually thanks to the updated posting policy tailored to PHC security responsibilities.

The longer tenure will also increase staff members familiarity with MPs and PHC movement patterns, which is essential for guaranteeing precise identification, safe access procedures, and layered threat detection and response.

Tighter eligibility requirements for both gazetted and non gazetted officers are outlined in the revised CISF standards pertaining to PHC security tasks, which require multi-stage screening.

Employees assigned to PHC responsibilities must have a spotless service record, fall into the top shape 1 medical category, have no disciplinary or vigilance issues, and have finished at least two specialised courses offered by the Army and NSG.
