India's cricket legend and Bharat Ratna, Sachin Tendulkar, has revealed a very intimate tale from the 2011 World Cup, which was his last and most treasured competition.
During a training camp in Bengaluru prior to the series, Sachin got a special call telling him that "Baba" had sent him a book. That small gesture gave him self assurance and inner fortitude.
Throughout the World Cup, the book was his constant companion, providing him with spiritual support as India advanced to victory.
When Sachin thinks back on the Mumbai final versus Sri Lanka, he remembers the moment India lifted the trophy as the pinnacle of his career a celebration in which the whole country came together. He attributes the triumph to the support of supporters, gurus, and most importantly, Baba.
