Trump ignites controversy by calling a female reporter stupid

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump added to the long list of derogatory remarks he has made about women in the media when he doesn't like their inquiries by calling a female reporter stupid.

"Are you foolish? Are you a moron? As he answered questions at his Florida residence regarding the screening of Afghans in the US, Trump interrupted the reporter.

On Wednesday, two native Guard members were shot close to the White House, apparently by an Afghan native who was smuggled into the nation when US forces abruptly left Afghanistan in 2021.

The reporter questioned Trump about why he blamed Joe Biden, his predecessor, given that certain members of his own government said resettlement Afghans had undergone extensive screening.

Trump said, "Because they let them in," while displaying a photo of a US military aircraft full of people escaping as the Taliban took back control.

They arrived "along with thousands of other people that shouldn't be here, and you're just asking questions because you're a stupid person," Trump stated.

The Trump administration is known for its brazen rhetoric and insults, but it seems that women in the press corps are especially targeted by the US president.

Trump lashed out at a New York Times article on Wednesday that highlighted his advanced age and increasing indications of exhaustion, calling the article's female author "ugly."
He referred to a female journalist earlier this month as "piggy" and another as "a terrible person."
