Retired IAF personnel arrested for spying in Tezpur

In Tezpur, Assam, a retired member of the Indian Air Force was detained on suspicion of forming connections with Pakistani intelligence agents and providing them with defense-related documents.

The suspect, Kulendra Sharma, who retired from the Indian Air Force in 2002 as a junior warrant officer, was detained on allegations of criminal conspiracy, acts endangering India's sovereignty, unity, and integrity, and causing evidence of an offense to vanish.

"We apprehended Kulendra Sharma and are currently conducting an inquiry after learning from a trustworthy source that he was forming connections with Pakistani intelligence agents.

Our initial inquiry revealed that certain documents were being exchanged with unidentified individuals. The documents in question are defense-related, according to Additional Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur, Haricharan Bhumij, who added, "We are verifying their originality."

He claimed that Sharma's laptop and cell phone were confiscated by the police. "We anticipate receiving additional information from the forensic analysis of the devices.

We discovered that some extremely private information had been disclosed. He stated, "We are determining the originality of the documents and who he was sharing the information with."

The arrest comes after four accused spies from Kashmir's Kupwara were detained by Arunachal Pradesh Police. According to the police, the spies were allegedly using a

Telegram channel to share security-related information with Pakistani handlers, including the deployment and movement of Indian armed personnel.

The state's capital Itanagar, West Siang district, and Changlang district were among the locations from which the arrests were made.
