On Thursday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States was punishing two International Criminal Court judges for their targeting of Israel.
In a statement, Rubio said, "Today, I am designating two International Criminal Court (ICC) judges, Gocha Lordkipanidze of Georgia and Erdenebalsuren Damdin of Mongolia, pursuant to Executive Order 14203," alluding to the order that President Donald Trump signed in February to penalize the ICC.
"These individuals have directly engaged in efforts by the ICC to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute Israeli nationals, without Israel's consent," he stated. Israel and the United States are not ICC members. the February U.S. sanctions.
