AAP criticizes Rahul Gandhi for silence on activist's arrest Congress responds

The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party clashed on Saturday, with the Congress claiming that the AAP was about to disintegrate and the AAP criticising Rahul Gandhi's silence about the imprisonment of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk under the strict NSA.

In an article on X, the AAP stated, "India's renowned social worker and scientist Sonam Wangchuk has been imprisoned by Modi's dictatorial govt on a false charge of sedition, and the country's so called opposition leader has maintained silence on the issue."

The party led by Arvind Kejriwal went on to say, "Why is Rahul Gandhi suddenly mute on Sonam Wangchuk, who enquired as to how many of our planes were lost in Operation Sindoor? Is Rahul Gandhi an agent of the BJP?

In response, Congress social media chief Supriya Shrinate wrote on X, "Your party is about to fall apart, Arvind Kejriwal ji.

Are you aware of why? Because the RSS lay the groundwork for your party in the background. By making false charges against the Congress, you were able to obtain power, but the very organisation that gave you birth has since absorbed you."

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, on Saturday denounced the Center's "pathetic handling" of the crisis and Wangchuk's incarceration.

He called for a judicial investigation into the police firing that killed four young people earlier this week, as well as the quick restoration of Ladakh's institutions and democracy.
