In a post on X, Chief Secretary Ravi Kota announced the news. "The Government of Assam expresses deep shock and sorrow at the passing of Shri Zubeen Garg, eminent singer, filmmaker and cultural icon," he stated.
"State mourning has been proclaimed for September 20–22. There won't be any formal banquets, entertainment, or ceremonial events during this time," he continued.The 'Seva Saptah' programs would also be delayed out of respect, Mr. Kota stated.
"However, service oriented activities such as health camps, Nikshay Mitra support for TB patients, and plantation drives will continue," he stated.
