Zubeen Garg's remains arrive in Guwahati tomorrow morning

According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the mortal remains of Zubeen Garg, a well known singer and cultural figure in Assam, would arrive in Guwahati on Sunday morning.

Additionally, he reported that the post mortem examination was finished in Singapore and that the body had been turned over to Shekar Jyothi Goswami, Sandeepan Garg, and his manager Siddharth Sharma, as well as officials from the Indian Embassy.

"The body will remain with the family in Delhi if it arrives tonight before being transported to Assam in a special air carriage.

According to Sarma, his lifeless remains should arrive in Guwahati tomorrow between six and seven in the morning.

Zubeen's remains will be brought to his home in Kahilipara upon arrival, where the family will have some privacy for perhaps an hour.

The Chief Minister said, "We ask that people refrain from interfering during this time, as it will be the family's last peaceful moments with him."

Following that, the public will be able to pay their final respects at the Sarusajai Indoor Stadium where the mortal remains will be displayed.

In the event of severe rain, backup plans have been prepared, and the public can still assemble on the helipad at Sarusajai.

Inside the stadium, special seats have been reserved for Zubeen's close family members.

On the day of the last rites, the government has chosen to ensure smooth traffic by prohibiting trucks and other large vehicles from using the national route as a sign of respect.

On the day of cremation, schools and other educational facilities would also be closed.

The Chief Minister stated that the decision will not be made unilaterally in response to calls from other parts of Upper Assam for Zubeen's ultimate resting place to remain in Jorhat.

"His family, the Assam Sahitya Sabha, the artist community, organisations, and the public will all be consulted before a final decision is made," he stated.

Additionally, Chief Minister Sarma disclosed that several formal complaints have been filed against the North East Festival organisers and a few of Zubeen's close friends, including manager Sidharth Sarma and Syamkanu Mahanta, who are currently in Singapore.
