In light of the Durga Puja celebrations, the Assam government would pay its workers' salaries in advance for September, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced Monday. He stated that rather than starting on October 1, the disbursement procedure will begin on Tuesday.
"The State Government has decided to release the salary for September 2025 in advance due to the upcoming Durga Puja," Sarma wrote in a post on X. "The Treasury will start receiving salary bills from today," he stated.
