Defence Minister Rajnath Singh sent a stern message to Pakistan on Monday, reaffirming that India will regain control of Pakistan occupied Kashmir without resorting to forceful measures.
He also stated that the PoK will declare, "Mein bhi Bharat hoon."
Rajnath Singh stated that the people of PoK are dissatisfied with the existing government and have called for independence while speaking to the Indian community in Morocco.
"PoK will belong to us independently. You must have heard sloganeering, as demands have begun to be made in PoK," the minister stated, adding that he had reiterated the same five years ago, whilst speaking at a Jammu and Kashmir Indian Army program.
"I told the Indian Army five years ago during a program in the Kashmir Valley that we wouldn't have to fight and take over PoK because it was already ours and the region would declare, 'Main bhi Bharat Hoon'.
"That day will arrive," the minister of defence stated. Following accusations that the Central government "missed the chance" to seize PoK during Operation Sindoor on May 7, the minister made these statements.
The Central government was condemned by a number of opposition party leaders for agreeing to a "ceasefire" even though India had the upper hand following the downing of several Pakistani jets during Operation Sindoor, which gave them the opportunity to seize the land that Pakistan had seized.
Speaking to the Indian community in Morocco, Rajnath Singh responded to the query of why India did not respond right away to US President Donald Trump's 50% tariff.
India's exports to US markets are subject to a 50% tax by the US, which includes a 25% penalty for purchasing Russian oil.
"We didn't respond big hearted and open minded people don't respond to things right away," he remarked.
