Workers discovered fragments of a shell that detonated in Dal Lake during Operation Sindoor in May while performing a routine cleanup of the lake on Saturday.
The bones were discovered by the Lake Conservation and Management Authority employees, who then turned them over to the closest police station for analysis and additional action.
Following loud explosions that rocked the city on May 10, a missile like object plummeted into Dal Lake, one of Srinagar's most popular tourist destinations.
Security personnel later removed the debris as smoke emerged from the water's surface.
The same day, another questionable item was discovered in Lasjan, which is outside of Srinagar.
On May 10, many explosions were reported throughout the city.
