Trump reveals his view of rivals differing from Charlie Kirk Didn’t hate his opponents

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was killed on Sunday, and US President Donald Trump honoured him by calling him "a missionary with a noble spirit and a great, great purpose."

Trump also disclosed a startling personal disagreement during a crowded memorial service, acknowledging that, in contrast to Kirk, he was unable to wish his political rivals well.

"We learn everything we need to know about Charlie Kirk's true self in that private moment on his last day," Trump stated.

He didn't despise his rivals. He wished them the best. I disagreed with Charlie on that point. I don't wish the best for my opponent since I despise them. I apologise.

Erica, I apologise. However, now that Erica, I, and the entire group can speak, perhaps they will be able to persuade me that's incorrect. However, I find my opponent intolerable.

Trump asserted that Kirk's death had political overtones, claiming that the bullet that killed him on September 10 at Utah Valley University was directed at all conservatives.

The bullet was aiming at all of us, but the pistol was pointing at him. "Almost everyone in this arena and most other places across our country firmly believed in the very ideas that Charlie was killed for expressing," he said.

Asserting that such thinking incites violence, Trump attacked what he described as a section of the political left, accusing them of attempting to muzzle Kirk because he was "winning Big."

However, there is a segment of our political community that feels they have a monopoly on truth, kindness, and virtue and decides they should also have a monopoly on power, ideas, and speech.

No political party in America has a monopoly on disturbed or misguided people. Unfortunately, that way of thinking eventually leads to atrocities like the ones we witnessed in Utah," he remarked.

"God willing, he will receive the full and ultimate punishment for his horrific crime," the president stated, referring to Tyler Robinson, the alleged shooter, as a "radicalised, cold-blooded monster."
