US President Donald Trump spoke at the American Cornerstone Institute, which was established by former Housing Secretary Ben Carson, on Saturday during a crowded event in Mount Vernon.
In addition to honouring supporters like the late Charlie Kirk and Dr. Ben Carson, Trump launched scathing assaults at former President Joe Biden and progressive causes during the evening, which was a mix of tribute, campaign stumping, and cultural criticism. He commended Carson's conservatism and dedication, pointing out that the retired neurosurgeon was unaware that the award announcement was imminent, as a testament to loyalty and similar principles.
Additionally, Trump reiterated his plan to memorialise Charlie Kirk, the conservative firebrand who was recently killed on a college campus, posthumously, calling him "a great man" who was "devastatedly loved" by America's youth.
During an appearance on campus earlier this month, Trump also spoke passionately about Charlie Kirk, who was slain.
The president recalled Kirk's unwavering enthusiasm, his impact on young conservatives, and his capacity to rally people.
Trump announced that the activist will get the Medal of Freedom posthumously and that he would attend Kirk's memorial service in Arizona.
"We're celebrating Charlie Kirk, a wonderful man, tomorrow. All he had was an army of youths.
They adored him. They're devastated at the moment, after all.
Trump responded to popular pity for former President Biden's age and health by directly attacking Biden's character.
"Biden was a cruel sob all the time. It's not going well for him at the moment. Therefore, keep in mind that he is a nasty guy when you begin to feel sorry for him.
Trump also used the weight-loss medication Ozempic in his address to attack US healthcare costs, making fun of a buddy who had to pay significantly different fees in London and New York.
And he sent down for what we call the fat drug, Ozempic, I suppose. Additionally, he resides in a stunning condo in New York. A rather uncivilised person.
