The 1st Assam Commando Battalion in Mandakata hosted the 75th Assam Police Day celebrations on Wednesday, which Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended.
The event was celebrated to commemorate a significant turning point in the Assam Police's glorious history.Speaking to the crowd, the governor congratulated the officers, staff, and their families on the force's platinum jubilee and offered their best wishes.
As he took the salute during the grand ceremonial procession, Acharya expressed his profound satisfaction and described the day as both a celebration and a reaffirmation of the dedication to justice, public safety, and law and order.
"The precision, discipline, and coordination displayed by the jawans are a true reflection of the dedication, training, and courage of our police personnel," he said.
The Governor emphasized the unique character of Assam Police, praising its unwavering bravery, unparalleled determination, and people centered methodology.
He acknowledged the significant contribution their families made to the country and paid somber homage to the courageous officers and jawans who gave their lives while doing their duties.
"The peace and security ensured by Assam Police are the foundation of the state's growth and prosperity," Acharya stated.
He urged for more vigilance, technical empowerment, and improved community cooperation, highlighting the dynamic character of contemporary dangers, which include border security, cybercrime, communal tensions, and anti social forces actions.
"The stronger the bridge of trust between the police and the people, the more unshakable our internal security will be," he said, highlighting the significance of public trust.
As an example of contemporary, compassionate police, he praised Assam Police's citizen first strategy and its leadership in combating drug misuse, human trafficking, environmental conservation, and cultural heritage preservation.
