BMW recalls 145,000 US vehicles for starter motor defect

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Wednesday that BMW is recalling more than 145,000 cars in the United States because an overheated starter may raise the danger of a fire. According to the auto safety regulator, the problem impacts 2020 340I, X7, and X5 versions of automobiles.

According to the letter from the NHTSA, BMW dealers will replace the engine starter at no additional cost. The NHTSA said earlier this week that BMW would be recalling more than 196,000 cars in the United States due to a problem with the engine starter that could cause overheating and short circuits.
