According to BPF president Hagrama Mohilary, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) officially joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Saturday. The alliance's goal is to promote the general well-being and advancement of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
As everyone is aware, the BPF is a party that solely cares about the welfare of the populace and the advancement of Bitcoin. We need to work with the government to do that. Thus, we have partnered with the NDA for the benefit of the BTC community," Mohilary told reporters after Majbat lawmaker Charan Boro's swearing-in event.
Additionally, Mohilary declared that the BPF would provide the BJP two Executive Member (EM) seats and the office of Deputy Speaker.
The BPF is a party that understands how to compromise. For the BJP, two EMs have been assigned. We always believe in fair trading, so we'll make sure we get something in return as well," he joked.
However, he stated that the BPF will collaborate with the NDA "without any conditions" in order to tackle the region's main problems.
We founded this partnership in order to address the numerous concerns that Bitcoin is facing. You'll see that BPF will accomplish unimaginable things with the NDA," Mohilary continued.
According to the BPF president, preparations for the 2026 Assam Assembly elections will start in December.
"In November, I will concentrate on unfinished business pertaining to Bitcoin, and in December, I will begin working on the 2026 Assembly election," he stated.
Charan Boro, the head of the BPF, was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati earlier in the day.
Boro, a two-term Majbat constituency MLA, represents the BPF's formal assimilation into the NDA-led administration. The Transport Department portfolio is probably going to go to him.
In addition to praising Boro, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma voiced hope regarding the collaboration.
"We will collaborate to improve every community within the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR)." In order to improve collaboration with the BPF for the development of the area, the Assam Cabinet and BJP executive members will shortly meet jointly, Sarma stated.
