BJP MP Khagen Murmu was brought to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Siliguri hospital on Tuesday after being hurt in an attack that was allegedly carried out by Trinamool activists while he was touring flood affected districts of Nagrakata, Jalpaiguri, according to Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The CM met Murmu's wife and children and chatted with the medical staff who were caring for him.
She informed the MP, "Please let me know if you require additional treatment elsewhere."Om Birla, the speaker of the Lok Sabha, has asked the Bengali government to provide a report on the incident within three days.
