According to a party spokeswoman on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, is expected to visit this country on October 17 to honor well known singer Zubeen Garg.
On September 19, 52 year old Garg passed away in Singapore while swimming in the ocean. However, a SIT established by the Assam government is looking into the circumstances surrounding his death.
"On October 17, Gandhi will travel to Guwahati to honor Zubeen Garg, the beloved artist and the beating heart of the people of Assam," stated Bedabrata Bora, the chairperson of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee's media cell.
