As the Lachit Ghat gets ready to host an air display commemorating the 93rd anniversary of the Indian Air Force, ferry operations between Guwahati and North Guwahati have been suspended from November 6 to November 9.
The temporary stoppage is a safety precaution throughout the rehearsal phase and the major event on November 9, according to the Inland Water Transport (IWT) Department. During practice sessions, the motion is intended to prevent any danger to passengers as the aircraft manoeuvre over the river.
The aerial show will feature more than 75 aircraft, including helicopters, cargo planes, and fighter jets. Both banks of the Brahmaputra are anticipated to see sizable crowds for the air show. Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, is probably going to be there.
