Chirag Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), expressed sympathy for RJD leader Rohini Acharya's announcement that she is leaving politics and her emotional claims of abuse and humiliation by her own family. In his response, Paswan mentioned his own experiences with personal crises.
Rohini announced her separation from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and her family on Saturday. She intensified her accusations a day later, accusing her brother Tejashwi Yadav of beating and degrading her, saying that things got so bad that "a slipper was raised to hit her."
"Yesterday, a daughter, a sister, a married woman, a mother was humiliated, abuses were thrown, shoes were raised to kill her," she wrote in a post on X.
I had to deal with insults because I didn't compromise on my integrity or give up on the truth. A daughter was forced to leave her parents house yesterday and became an orphan after leaving her sobbing parents and siblings due to powerlessness.
No home should have a daughter-sister like Rohini, and I hope none of you ever have to follow in my footsteps." Chirag Paswan told reporters on Sunday, "I will not comment on this because I can understand the mental status when a family goes through such a difficult situation."
I've experienced this as well. Paswan went on to say that his affection for Lalu Prasad Yadav's children has never been impacted by political disputes.
"I have always regarded Lalu ji's family as my own, notwithstanding our political differences. I have thought of Tejashwi, Tej, Misa, and Rohini as my siblings," he remarked, as reported by ANI.
"I hope that this family conflict be settled as soon as possible. A person can overcome difficult circumstances outside the home if there is unity within the family.
"The family must be going through a difficult time," he continued. Following the RJD's stunning electoral disaster, in which the Tejashwi led party won only 25 of 143 seats a loss of more than 100 seats Rohini is facing popular backlash.
In response to the events, her brother Tej Pratap Yadav, who had been ousted from the Yadav family and the RJD a few months prior, warned those he referred to as "traitors" and made a heartfelt plea to his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav.
