The annual bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for December 4-5.
The two countries are looking to expand their strategic alliance in the face of global obstacles, such as US sanctions against Russian oil companies.
"During the visit, President Putin will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Murmu will also receive President Putin and host a banquet in his honour," the statement said.
According to MEA, the next visit will provide the leaderships with a chance to assess the state of bilateral relations, establish a plan for enhancing the "Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership," and share perspectives on regional and international matters of shared interest.
The Kremlin issued a similar declaration. Putin will travel to India for the first time since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine began in February 2022. December 2021 was Putin's most recent trip to India.
