Japan's ANA cancels 65 flights after Airbus A320 recall

The largest airline in Japan, ANA Holdings, reports that has grounded several aircraft due to the Airbus A320 recall, which resulted in the cancellation of 65 flights on Saturday.

The carrier is the largest operator of single aisle Airbus aircraft, including the A320, in Japan, along with affiliates like Peach Aviation.

Japan Airlines, ANA's main competitor, does not operate the A320 and primarily operates Boeing aircraft. More than half of Airbus's worldwide fleet of A320 aircraft, which are the mainstay of Asian short haul aviation, especially in China and India, are impacted by the extensive recall.

Approximately 11,300 single aisle aircraft, including 6,440 of the core A320, are in service worldwide. Prior to the planes being able to fly again, the remedy, which primarily entails going back to older software, must be finished.

With only 17 of its aircraft impacted by the recall, South Korea's Asiana Airlines stated that it does not anticipate any major interruptions to its flying schedule.
