The Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST), Guwahati Commissionerate, has detained two individuals on suspicion of being involved in a fraudulent invoice scheme.
According to an official statement released on Friday, the CGST Guwahati Commissionerate's anti evasion unit had specific information that a group of people were using more than 50 suspicious GST registrations to provide fictitious invoices to different recipients without actually providing goods or services in order to pass on fraudulent GST credit.
