Soon, the eagerly anticipated Vande Bharat Sleeper train will make its first trip. The new semi-high-speed service will run between Guwahati and Howrah.
The new train will significantly increase tourism in the area. Later this month, the Howrah-Guwahati Vande Bharat Sleeper train will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Howrah-Guwahati Vande Bharat Sleeper train will cut the distance between the two cities by over three hours. The Saraighat Express, which travels 966 kilometers in more than 16 hours, is now the quickest train on this route. The trip duration will probably be shortened to about 14 hours with the advent of the Vande Bharat Sleeper.
The Howrah-Guwahati Vande Bharat Sleeper train, designed by BEML using ICF technology, will reach a top speed of 180 kmph.
Six days a week, this new train will operate. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Saturday that all states will implement Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. The Vande Bharat Sleeper train will be introduced for overnight trips of about 1,500 kilometers, the Union minister added.
Additionally, the Railway Minister stated that all aspects of passenger convenience, including comfort and safety, were considered during the design process. The Kavach safety system, CCTV cameras, and other contemporary technologies are installed on the train.
