BJP demands Cong to account for its ‘loot’ in Herald case

In the National Herald case, Delhi Police filed a formal complaint against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, along with six other associates and business entities, on a number of criminal charges.

On Sunday, the BJP asked Congress to explain "loot by its leaders" rather than making unfounded accusations against the government.

Ravi Shankar Prasad of the BJP denied the Congress's accusation of political retaliation, stating that the case existed before the Modi administration.

"The country should be aware that Young Indian, in which Sonia and Rahul each own 38% of the company, used just Rs 50 lakh to purchase assets worth thousands of crores that belonged to AJL, which was owned by National Herald and held by the Congress."

It is obviously an instance of looting. He emphasised that Congress's requests at the HC and SC to have the proceedings against its members canceled were denied, and the judiciary requested that they be put on trial.

"The law is taking its course, and Congress should let it," he said. According to the FIR, Sonia and Rahul have been accused of cheating and criminal conspiracy. After investigating the allegations, ED came to a conclusion and requested that police file a formal complaint.
