In accordance with a unique state strategy for rehabilitating families impacted by terrorism, the Supreme Court has ordered the Assam government to pay Rs. 5 lakhs to each of the 40 people nominated to the position of Lower Division Assistant (LDA).
The Gauhati High Court's ruling, which invalidated the State government termination, was altered by a bench of Justices JK Maheshwari and Vijay Bishnoi.
