In a year-end speech to the nation, US President Donald Trump noted the many achievements of his second term in office, highlighting his administration's achievements in immigration and ending eight wars.
"Eleven months ago, I inherited a mess, and I'm fixing it," Trump declared at the start of his 19-minute special prime-time speech to the country on Wednesday.
Trump enumerated the accomplishments of his administration since taking office for a second term in January of this year, including border security, "reverse migration," lowering prices, resolving disputes, utilizing tariffs to bring billions of dollars into the nation, facilitating the creation of jobs, and tightening immigration regulations.
"I've restored American strength, settled eight wars in 10 months, destroyed the Iran nuclear threat and ended the war in Gaza, bringing for the first time in 3,000 years peace to the Middle East, and secured the release of the hostages, both living and dead," Trump stated.
Trump has often stated during the year that he put a stop to hostilities between India and Pakistan, Thailand and Cambodia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Rwanda and the Congo, even though he did not identify the conflicts.
Additionally, he highlighted how well his administration has handled immigrants entering the nation from all over the world, taking up American jobs and pushing up housing costs.
Trump claimed that the "colossal border invasion" was a significant contributing factor to rising house costs. "No one has ever invaded us. The invasion at the border is, in my opinion, the worst thing the Biden administration has done to our nation.
Trump claimed that while American rent and housing expenses skyrocketed, the Biden administration and its congressional supporters brought in "millions and millions" of migrants and provided them with taxpayer-funded homes. He asserted that foreign migrants accounted for more than 60% of the rental market's increase.
"At the same time, illegal aliens stole American jobs and flooded emergency rooms, getting free health care and education paid for by you, the American taxpayer," Trump stated.
For the first time in fifty years, he asserted, the United States is witnessing "reverse migration, as migrants go back home, leaving more housing and more jobs for Americans."
Foreign immigrants accounted for all net employment creation in the year prior to his election. "American-born citizens have benefited from 100% of all net job creation since I entered office. 100%," he declared.
