Accused Gaganpreet Kaur was granted bail by Delhi's Patiala court on Saturday in relation to the BMW accident case that claimed the life of Navjot Singh, deputy secretary in the ministry of finance, on September 14.
On a bond of Rs 1 lakh and two sureties of the same amount, the judge granted Kaur bail.Gaganpreet Kaur was also ordered by the court to give up her passport.
The court stated that an ambulance arrived in a matter of seconds and stayed there for 30 seconds prior to issuing the bail order did not, however, transport the wounded to a medical facility.
Dspite the fact that they were heading to the Army Base Hospital, the closest hospital, and had no urgent assignments.
"How should this ambulance be handled? The judge questioned the police, "Are they not charged with the crime of death by negligence?"
"The truck with the best equipment was there. Within 30 seconds, the ambulance departed the scene. Isn't it medical malpractice? It was added.
According to the court, the paramedic staffed ambulance had a duty to transport the injured to the hospital.
However, the court noted that paramedics asked the onlookers if anyone required assistance.
