Researchers from Guwahati obtain a patent for a novel soil sampling tool

The Indian Intellectual Property Office awarded a patent to two research scholars, Ankita Majumdar from Guwahati and their professor, for their innovative creation of a portable instrument intended to precisely gather soil samples.

The National Institute of Technology, Silchar's Professor Debjit Bhowmik oversaw the development of the gadget, which was formally acknowledged as an intellectual property.

In order to gather soil samples without harming the underlying soil structure, Ankita Majumdar and her Bihar based colleague Gautam devised a portable instrument.

An important addition to soil science was thought to have been made by the invention.

Anyone who wants to use the technology must get permission from the inventors, according to the 20 year old patent.
