India and Sri Lanka will arrive in Guwahati today for the ICC Women's World Cup opener

The two teams who will compete in the inaugural match of the ICC Women World Cup Cricket, hosts India and Sri Lanka, are expected to land in Guwahati on Sunday.

First to land in the city will be Sri Lanka, followed by the Indian team led by Harmanpreet Kaur.

On September 30, the competition's first game will take place at ACA Stadium.

The Assam Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India would collaborate to stage a unique musical tribute to the late singer Zubeen Garg on the same day.

It should be noted that India, Sri Lanka, England, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and South Africa will all play in four group league games in Guwahati.

In the event that Pakistan is not qualified, the city may also host the first semifinal.

Within the next few days, South Africa and England are also anticipated to arrive in the city.
