NIA seizes properties of Hizbul Mujahideen operative in Kashmir

Tariq Ahmad Mir, an HM agent who supplied weapons and ammunition to active members of the outlawed group in Kashmir, had his real estate seized by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday.According to PTI, Mir, a friend of Syed Naveed Mushtaq, an HM member from Pakistan, was charged in an NIA court in October 2024 after being arrested in April in connection with a terror related case.
The associated properties, according to the NIA, comprised an eight marla square foot plot of land in Maldera village, Shopian district, that was used as an orchard, and a concrete, one story residential building on 780 square feet of land.
The action is part of the NIA's continuous efforts to dismantle terror networks in the area and was ordered by the NIA special court in Jammu.
"Today's property attachment was part of NIA's ongoing action against terror networks operating in Kashmir with the aim of disrupting India's peace, stability and harmony," stated the statement.
