Delivering justice has always been a moral pillar of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) governance, the party has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to providing justice for all Assamese citizens.
BJP spokeswoman Pranjal Kalita said in a statement that Assam's crime rate has significantly decreased since the BJP took office in 2016.
The spokesman highlighted that criminals who have committed horrible crimes including rape, murder, and drug trafficking have not escaped justice through influence or financial power, attributing this success to the government's zero tolerance approach toward crime
Under the BJP administration, Assam has also risen to the top of India's child marriage prevention rankings. Kalita highlighted significant administrative reforms, pointing out that the BJP government brought Rakesh Paul, the main player in the APSC job fraud, to justice and destroyed the unethical hiring practices that were in place during the Congress administration.
"The BJP government restored trust in public institutions and ensured justice for the youth of Assam by replacing the money for jobs market with a merit-based, transparent recruitment process," he continued.
Kalita also cited the government's aggressive measures against land mafias, administrative service corruption, and "love jihad" incidents.
The government has ensured efficiency and openness by moving important services like land registrations, permits, and pensions to online platforms.
He said that as part of the BJP's dedication to social justice, more over 2 lakh landless families have received land pattas. The government has taken prompt and immediate action to ensure a fair legal process, Kalita said, referring to the current probe into the death of Zubeen Garg, the beloved singer from Assam.
No one engaged in the issue will be able to get away with it by using legal loopholes, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has reiterated. Assam Police have already made significant arrests, and a judicial committee led by Gauhati High Court Justice Saumitra Saikia has been established to supervise the investigation.
