According to North Korea's official media, KCNA, China said it is prepared to deepen its relationship with North Korea in order to fortify strategic cooperation in regional and global affairs.
According to KCNA, Chinese President Xi Jinping made the remark in a letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Thursday.The letter was a response to Kim's statement commemorating China's anniversary of the Communist Party's founding.
Xi was cited as adding that China and North Korea are "good neighbors, good friends," sharing a future and supporting one another, and their bond is only getting stronger.
According to the letter cited by KCNA, Xi stated that during Kim's September visit to China, the two leaders created "a blueprint" for the future of their relationship.
In a separate story, KCNA reported that North Korean and Indonesian foreign ministers met in Pyongyang on Saturday.
According to KCNA, the two sides discussed ways to improve their bilateral ties and work together on regional and global issues that both parties find important.
"A memorandum of understanding on mutual issues was also signed by the two countries," KCNA stated without providing any details.
According to KCNA, the Indonesian minister is one of several foreign guests in North Korea taking part in the celebration of the governing party's 80th anniversary.
