Rs. 42,000 Cr. agri boost Atul Bora supports PM Modi’s farmer centric vision

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of two historic agriculture programs, the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, was televised live on Saturday from Assam Agricultural University (AAU) in Jorhat. Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora was there.

With improved infrastructure, technology, and self reliance in important crops, the two programs which together make up a Rs 42,000 crore national agricultural development drive seek to modernize India's farm sector, increase production, and empower farmers.

The programs, according to Atul Bora, are a "game changer for farmers in Assam and across the country," reflecting the government's long term goal of an agricultural ecosystem that is resilient and self sufficient.

Millions of farmers will gain from the implementation of these programs. According to Bora, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working steadily to improve the agricultural industry and guarantee the welfare of farmers.

He added that 100 aspirational districts have been identified throughout India under the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, including three from Assam in Charaideo, Sribhumi, and Dima Hasao.

The program will give these districts extra attention in an effort to increase revenue, productivity, and access to contemporary farming methods.

By encouraging sustainable farming methods and productivity driven by research, the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses aims to increase pulse production and lessen India's reliance on imports.

Bora emphasized that Assamese farmers will especially benefit from this mission because of the region's abundant soil and increasing focus on crop diversification.

"The Department of Agriculture, Assam, will ensure the enrollment of all eligible farmers under these national initiatives," the minister stated, restating the state's pledge.

We shall keep putting in endless effort to boost output, grow the agribusiness, and ensure that every Assamese farmer leads a respectable and successful life.
