On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi left Delhi for a three-country tour to Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman, countries with which India has "age-old civilizational ties" and close bilateral ties.

The visit to Jordan falls on the 75th anniversary of the two nations' diplomatic relations, a significant occasion that is anticipated to deepen bilateral interaction.

"I am embarking on a three-nation visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Sultanate of Oman, three nations with which India shares both age-old civilizational ties, as well as extensive contemporary bilateral relations," the prime minister stated prior to his departure, as reported according to PTI.

At King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein's request, Prime Minister Modi will visit Jordan from December 15 to 16, where he will hold discussions to go over the entire scope of India-Jordan relations and talk about regional developments. He will also get to know the nation's Indian diaspora.

"At the invitation of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, I shall first travel to Jordan. As he left, the prime minister remarked, "This historic visit will mark 75 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries."

PM Modi will make his first trip to Ethiopia on December 16–17 as part of the second phase of his tour. He will have in-depth discussions about every facet of bilateral relations with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. The African Union's headquarters are located in the capital city of Addis Ababa.

PM Modi stated, "I will pay my first visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia," in reference to the trip. The African Union's headquarters are located in Addis Ababa.

The African Union was accepted as a permanent member of the G20 in 2023 under India's G20 presidency. "I will hold detailed discussions with H E Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali in Addis Ababa and also have the opportunity to meet the Indian diaspora living there," he continued.

Additionally, a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament will be addressed by the prime minister. He declared, "I am excited to share my thoughts on India's journey as the 'Mother of Democracy' and the value that the India-Ethiopia partnership can bring to the Global South."

According to the MEA, the visit to Ethiopia would reaffirm both nations' shared commitment to fostering friendship and growing bilateral cooperation as partners in the Global South.

At Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's request, PM Modi will make his second trip to Oman on the last leg of his journey, from December 17 to 18.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India and Oman have a comprehensive Strategic Partnership based on long-standing friendships, trade, and solid interpersonal ties.

The visit comes after the Sultan of Oman's state visit to India in December 2023 and marks 70 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

In addition to exchanging opinions on regional and international problems of shared interest, both parties are anticipated to carry out a thorough assessment of cooperation in a variety of fields, including commerce, investment, energy, defense, security, technology, agriculture, and culture.

"I'm excited to talk with His Majesty the Sultan of Oman in Muscat and to build on our solid business and economic ties as well as our strategic partnership.

PM Modi added, "I will also speak to a gathering of the Indian diaspora in Oman, which has greatly aided in the development of the nation and in strengthening our partnership."
