NDA never mentioned killing anyone: Kiren Rijiju criticizes Rahul Gandhi

A day after footage of Congress activists chanting "eliminate" Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared on social media, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju demanded an apology from the leaders of the opposition in both chambers, Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.

"Both the LoPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha should apologise," Rijiju stated. He went on to say that neither the NDA nor the BJP had "never disrespected anyone’s parents or threatened anyone’s life."

"The BJP-NDA has never threatened someone's life or degraded their parents. As politics permits in a democracy, we criticize and oppose people in many ways, but killing someone has never been considered.

He asked, "What kind of mentality is this, that Congress leaders openly declared to kill someone?" "PM Modi is acknowledged by both the nation and the rest of the world, hence it is extremely upsetting if some opposition leaders discuss assassinating him.

It won't help to just condemn it. "From the floor of the House, the Congress chief and the LoP must apologize to the nation," he continued.

On Sunday, a number of BJP leaders posted a video claiming that the "real agenda" for their SIR, "vote chori" event in Delhi was to "eliminate" Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"There is a definite agenda. It has nothing to do with SIR. It has to do with Sanvidhan pe vaar. "Kabr khudegi Modi ki, aaj nahi to kal khudegi" is being chanted by Congress leaders, according to BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla.

"Recently, Ragini Nayak tweeted an AI video that depicted him as a chaiwala. Do they wish to remove PM Modi in the name of SIR? Rahul Gandhi has threatened ECI as well.

Cong has mistreated PM Modi more than 150 times so far," he continued. The Congress increased its agitation over alleged "vote theft" and the special rigorous revision of electoral rolls by organizing a sizable gathering at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.

The protest, dubbed "Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod," took place in the midst of heightened political tensions, just after the government and the opposition engaged in acrimonious debates in Parliament on the legitimacy of the election process.
