Yatindra Maralkar, the Goa Health Secretary, announced on Sunday that a large fire that destroyed a restaurant in Arpora, North Goa, claimed 25 lives.

According to Maralkar, the five people who were hurt roughly 12% of them were burned are healing quickly. "Five patients have a 12% injury rate, and they are healing quickly.

I'm hoping they'll be out by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. The other girls are in better shape, but one girl has more serious injuries," he continued.

He added that six bodies have been identified thus far out of the 25 deaths claimed in the incident. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the relatives of the victims and Rs 50,000 each for the injured following the deadly fire at a restaurant-club in Arpora, North Goa, which killed 25 people.

The fire that broke out early on Sunday morning claimed the lives of at least 25 persons, four of whom were tourists and fourteen of whom were employees.

While police worked through the night to put the situation under control, emergency services raced to the scene and transported the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Goa police report that 25 deceased people have been moved to GMC Bambolim, and the identification process is under progress.

Every attempt is being made to determine the identities as soon as possible. "Of the six injured persons, one has been discharged, while five continue to remain admitted and are under treatment," according to the police.

According to Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, sections 105, 125, 125(a), 125(b), and 287 r/w 3(5), an offense has been reported at the Anjuna Police Station.

Senior Goa police officers are camped at the Anjuna police station, where they are keeping a close eye on the probe. The 17 bodies were examined postmortem. The Goa police said, "Five bodies have been given to the relatives for final religious rites."

An eyewitness stated that after a pyro pistol was fired, a spark on their timber roof may have ignited the fire. The fire at "Birch By Romeo Lane" in Arpora, North Goa, early on Sunday morning resulted in at least 25 fatalities and numerous injuries.
