Trump to review Netflix-Warner Brothers deal

U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters on Sunday that he would have a voice in whether the proposed merger of Netflix and Warner Brothers should proceed, citing worries about the merged company's market position. Trump told reporters, "I'll be involved in that decision," as he arrived at the Kennedy Center for its yearly awards ceremony.

On Friday, Netflix reached an agreement to pay $72 billion to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery's TV, film studios, and streaming operations, giving the streaming pioneer control over one of Hollywood's most valuable assets.

Trump mentioned a possible concentration of market power in the entertainment sector, but he did not state if he supported the deal's approval.

It will be up to certain economists to determine that. However, it has a significant market share. Without a doubt, it might be an issue," Trump stated.
